Heavy rains in southern NSW have caused flash flooding that has closed highways and threatened homes. About 100 defence force personnel and SES crews are helping sandbag a creek in Wagga Wagga that threatens to flood. The SES says about six homes in the suburb of Tatton are threatened and more rain is forecast for this evening. But a spokesman for the SES says the sandbags are expected to hold. The Hume Highway at Holbrook is closed in both directions. There are highway closures at Wagga Wagga, Narranderra, Mathoura, Borambula, Uranquinty, Tarcutta and Henty.
