Description: Belgium's rail network saw its third accident in three weeks on Tuesday as an empty passenger train derailed in a station in the western town of Mons, without causing injuries, local media reported. The accident happened shortly after 5 am local time (0400 GMT) after an icy night. The train left the tracks without rolling over, and can therefore be lifted back onto the rails directly. On February 15, two passenger trains collided almost head-on south of Brussels, killing 18 passengers and injuring dozens. Initial analyses concluded that one of the trains ran through a red light. On Thursday, a goods train and a locomotive collided near the eastern Belgian city of Liege in unexplained circumstances. There were no casualties, but the locomotive driver was treated for shock.
