Description: The power to 11,000 customers on Prince Edward Island, stretching from Sherbrooke to West Point, was restored around 7:25 p.m. Thursday, after being knocked out for more than two hours. Kim Griffin, spokesperson with Maritime Electric, said wires were knocked down by high winds in the Miscouche area. Winds were blowing up to 70 kilometres per hour across the Island, according to Environment Canada. Snow and blowing snow is forecast for Thursday night. Plows were pulled off secondary roads in Prince County at 8 p.m. because of the high winds. Plows were to continue clearing main roads. Visibility was poor in many areas and there are white out conditions in a number of locations, especially in Hunter River and along Route 2. A bus and a number of cars went off the road in Miscouche. No injuries were reported.
