Description:

Doctors warn there is an outbreak of Legionellosis in south Milwaukee County. Officials at St. Luke's Hospital said there are eight known cases. Most of the patients had some contact with Aurora St. Luke's South Shore, in Cudahy. It's not clear where the bacteria came from. Legionellosis is a water-borne bacteria, which makes people sick when they inhale contaminated water vapor. Nurses said that people can't catch Legionellosis from an infected person, it has to be inhaled from the water vapor directly. Symptoms include pneumonia-like symptoms. It is treatable with antibiotics. Anyone who thinks they've been exposed should contact their doctor.
